The game is played as follows. First those who wish place wagers for the player or the dealer to win or for a tie result. Then two cards are dealt to both player and dealer and then the normal Baccarat rules are followed. These are:

To start; both the player and the dealer receive two cards face down. They both look at their cards and if either has a natural (8 or 9) the cards are turned over, no more cards are dealt, and the one with the total closer to nine wins. If neither has a natural then the rules tell both of them what to do.

After this, a comparison between the two hands is made and the one with the value closest to 9 wins.

The major differences between Mini and regular Baccarat are:

• All of the card handling is done by the dealer the player's don't handle the cards.
• Only one employee supervises the table.
• A Mini Baccarat table is smaller than the usual Baccarat table.
• This smaller table size limits the maximum number of players usually to seven.
• Dress is more casual than for those who play regular Baccarat.
• The minimum bet has been reduced to $10 or less and a lower maximum limit is the norm.
